1969 Mercedes Benz 280 SL “Excellent Running and Driving, well sorted. Beautiful car”

The car on offer here is a lovely 1969 Mercedes 280SL roadster. The car is believed to be a three owner vehicle . It was imported from Germany in the 1980's and purchased by the current owner about 10 years ago. The car is painted in its correct original Metallic champagne with correct tan leather interior. The in-line six cylinder engine runs well, starts easily and has good power and torque. It comes with its original hardtop the black soft top was replaced 5 years ago and is in as new condition.

New ignition wires
New fan clutch
New crankshaft seal
New exhaust

With more than $10,000 spent on repairs and restorative work in the last 10 years the car clearly has been well looked after.

The car has been sympathetically restored over the years whatever it needed, it got. At some point it was repainted and the correct original Champagne Metallic shows well. All of the exterior chrome and bright work is excellent and all rubber seals are moist and pliable. The interior has been restored as well, the wood trim shows well and the interior MB text looks excellent with no blemishes. The tires have a 2015 date code and are in great condition. The car starts easily and drives well. The engine makes good power and torque and the transmission shifts as designed. All systems function as designed, the car is well sorted and needs nothing.
