1997 Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution “Fully sorted JDM (Japanese domestic market) truck” right hand drive, very original, excellent both mechanically and Cosmetically”
VIN V55-4400363
The truck on offer here is this well maintained, 1997 Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution. It is one of only 2,700 units produced worldwide. Originally sold in Japan, this truck spent time in Japan before it was imported into the US. Now showing 215,900 kilometers (~129,000k miles), the truck is finished in Satellite Silver Metallic over Gray cloth. Power comes from its original 3.5-liter V6 paired to a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipped from the factory with a dual-range transfer case, a locking center differential, limited-slip front and rear differentials, EVO specific bodywork, roof spoiler, dual hood scoops, quad fog lights, driving lights, 16″ spoke alloy wheels, automatic climate control, Recaro front seats, and an aftermarket Pioneer stereo.
The Pajero Evolution was introduced in 1997 after being developed as a homologation model for the Paris-Dakar Rally. These trucks had Evolution-specific front bumper with quad fog lights in addition to flared fenders with front cooling ducts. Other features include a fender-mounted mirror, a roof spoiler, dual hood scoops, auxiliary lights, and mud flaps. Under the hood, the 3.5-liter 24-valve DOHC V6 engine (code 6G74) equipped with MIVEC variable valve timing and a dual-plenum variable intake system, producing 275 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 257 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm. Power is sent through a 5-speed manual transmission to a full-time four-wheel-drive system with Torsen front and rear differentials for exceptional traction on or off the pavement. Alloy 16″ alloy wheels were mounted with 265/70 Toyo Open Country SUV tires in 2023, and a matching spare wheel housed on the rear cargo door. Braking is handled by four-wheel anti-lock discs.
This 1997 Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution is a rare homologation special, built to celebrate Mitsubishi's Dakar Rally dominance and blending rugged SUV capability with rally-inspired performance. With 129,000 miles on the clock, this example retains its correct paint and bodywork, showcasing the exterior that's remarkably preserved for its age. Inside, the cabin is in excellent condition, with the only wear on the driver's seat. The patina adds character without detracting from its overall condition. Buy with confidence, as this Pajero is fully sorted, up to date on all services and needs nothing except an enthusiastic new owner/collector.
